How does Tulane review applications during the admissions process?

I’m a high school junior trying to figure out what colleges really pay attention to when they read applications. Tulane is one of the schools I’m interested in, and I want to understand how their review process works overall.

I’m especially trying to get a realistic sense of how they look at things like grades, course rigor, activities, essays, and demonstrated interest compared with each other.

Tulane uses a holistic application review, but academics come first. The biggest factors are your high school transcript, the rigor of your courses, and how consistently strong your grades are over time.

After academics, Tulane looks at the rest of the application to understand fit and contribution. Your activities, leadership, service, work experience, and essays help them see how you use your time and what kind of community member you would be.

Recommendations and the school report provide added context, especially about character, classroom presence, and what opportunities were available to you.
