What does the Arizona State University application checklist actually mean?
I’m applying to ASU and the checklist in my portal has a bunch of items that I’m not totally sure how to interpret. I want to understand what each checklist item is actually tracking, like whether it means something is required, received, or still being processed.
I’m a senior and I’m trying to make sure I’m not missing anything important just because the wording is confusing.

At ASU, the application checklist is basically a status tracker for each part of your file. The main thing to know is that the item name tells you what ASU is looking at, and the status next to it tells you whether they still need it, have received it, or are reviewing it.
If an item says something like Initiated, Incomplete, or To Do, that usually means ASU still needs action from you or from your school/testing agency. If it says Received, that generally means the document arrived but may not be fully reviewed yet. If it says Complete or Satisfied, that usually means that requirement has been met.
For seniors, the most common checklist items are the application itself, official or self-reported transcripts, test scores if you’re submitting them, and residency documents if ASU needs to verify in-state status. You may also see priority tasks related to financial aid, like FAFSA-related items, but those are separate from admission.
If you see a transcript item, pay close attention to whether it says high school transcript, final transcript, or unofficial transcript.
