Lincoln Center feels more immediately urban, with the city functioning as an extension of campus.

William & Mary is located in Williamsburg, Virginia, a historic and walkable college town rather than a major city. The area has restaurants, Colonial Williamsburg, local events, and a close-knit campus social scene, but its pace is quieter and more self-contained. Richmond and other destinations are available for day or weekend trips, yet they will not provide Fordham’s spontaneous, everyday city access.

For a student who wants a classic residential campus and a charming, lower-key setting, William & Mary may be appealing. But based specifically on access to lively urban life, Fordham is the clear match.
