You would be surrounded by a very large engineering community, strong internship pipelines, extensive project teams, and employers who actively recruit there for technical roles. That can matter a lot if you want options across areas like mechanical, electrical, computer, civil, aerospace, materials, or interdisciplinary work, because Illinois has the scale and reputation to support all of that.
