Which is better for internships: Villanova or Emory?

The biggest practical tradeoff is location versus built-in business recruiting strength. Emory gives you access to Atlanta during the school year, which makes part-time internships and in-semester networking easier, while Villanova benefits from strong employer ties in the Philadelphia and New York corridor and a very established undergraduate business pipeline through the School of Business.

For finding internships while you are still in college, Emory has a real advantage because Atlanta is a major metro area with healthcare, consulting, nonprofit, media, logistics, and corporate opportunities nearby. That matters if you want to intern during the semester, not just in the summer. Emory students can more realistically balance classes with internships at companies and organizations in the city, and the university’s connections in healthcare and public health are especially useful if those fields interest you.

Villanova is very solid from a career perspective, especially for business, finance, accounting, and some corporate roles. Its alumni network is known for being loyal and responsive, and employers in Philadelphia and on the Main Line recruit there consistently. You are also close enough to New York for networking and summer recruiting, but Villanova’s suburban setting means in-semester internships are usually less convenient than at Emory unless you are willing to commute.

If your focus is business recruiting specifically, Villanova can be extremely competitive because the undergraduate business brand is strong and career preparation is quite structured. If your interests are broader or you want easier access to internships during the academic year, Emory tends to offer more day-to-day opportunity because of Atlanta.
