For DC-focused fields like government, policy, international affairs, media, and advocacy, Georgetown has the clearer built-in advantage.

At Georgetown, being in the city changes the logistics completely. Students can commute to agencies, Capitol Hill, nonprofits, embassies, think tanks, and consulting offices during the week without needing to relocate for a full semester. Georgetown also has a very visible alumni presence in DC and a long-established pipeline into institutions that hire interns regularly from nearby campuses.

Villanova students absolutely can get DC internships, especially in the summer, and the alumni network is strong overall. But from Villanova’s campus, semester-time DC internships are much harder simply because you are not local.
