Tulane students tend to talk more about being mindful off campus because New Orleans can feel less uniformly polished. Coral Gables around Miami often feels more orderly and suburban, which many families find reassuring.

If your priority is four years in a place with stronger local character, better walkable off-campus texture, and a more distinctive everyday vibe, Tulane is the one I’d pick for overall environment.
