How does the Virginia Tech honors college application work for first-year applicants?

For first-year applicants, Virginia Tech’s Honors College has its own application that is separate from general university admission, but it is considered alongside your Virginia Tech application. Admission to Virginia Tech does not automatically mean admission to Honors, and strong students are not admitted based on grades alone.

The Honors College looks for students who show intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a strong fit with an interdisciplinary, discussion-based academic environment.
