What is the difference between applying Early Action and Early Decision to Drexel?

I’m a high school senior trying to figure out whether Drexel should be one of my earlier applications. I understand that both options let you apply before regular decision, but I’m confused about how Early Action and Early Decision actually differ in terms of commitment and what happens after you get in.

I want to make sure I understand the real difference before choosing one.

At Drexel, Early Decision is binding and Early Action is not. If you apply Early Decision and are admitted, you are expected to enroll at Drexel and withdraw applications from other colleges. If you apply Early Action, you get an earlier admissions decision too, but you can still compare offers and decide later.

That commitment piece is the biggest difference. Early Decision is best only if Drexel is clearly your first-choice school and you are comfortable committing before seeing all of your other options. Early Action gives you more flexibility, which is helpful if you want to compare financial aid packages, majors, or other admissions results.

If you like Drexel but are not fully ready to commit, Early Action is usually the safer choice. If Drexel is absolutely the place you want to attend and you want to show that level of commitment, Early Decision can make more sense.
