Which offers stronger career opportunities in Atlanta: WashU or Emory?

For a student who expects to start a career in Atlanta, Emory offers the more direct advantage. Its Atlanta location makes semester-time internships, faculty and employer connections, alumni events, and recruiting relationships immediately accessible, especially in healthcare, public health, research, consulting, finance, and the city’s growing startup ecosystem. Emory’s links with organizations such as Emory Healthcare and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are particularly meaningful for students pursuing health-related or policy-oriented work.

That does not mean a WashU degree will be overlooked in Atlanta. WashU has a strong national academic reputation, an alumni network that extends well beyond St. Louis, and solid pathways into selective employers and graduate programs. A student with a strong record at WashU can absolutely recruit into Atlanta, particularly through national consulting, banking, technology, or corporate recruiting channels.
