How does Fordham's test-optional policy affect how admissions reviews the rest of your application?

I'm a junior trying to figure out whether not sending SAT or ACT scores to Fordham would put me at a disadvantage, especially if my grades are strong but my testing is not.

I understand what test optional means in general, but I'm specifically trying to understand how Fordham weighs the rest of the application if you apply without scores.

Fordham’s test-optional policy means you can apply without SAT or ACT scores and still receive full consideration for admission. If you do not submit scores, admissions places more emphasis on the other parts of your application rather than treating the file as incomplete.

That usually means your transcript becomes even more important. Fordham will look closely at course rigor, grade trends, overall GPA, and how you performed in the context of what your high school offers. Strong grades in challenging classes can absolutely help offset weaker testing if you choose not to submit scores.
