Which is better for preparing for pharmacy school: Tulane or Rutgers?

Rutgers fits students who want to explore pharmacy early while keeping a strong science foundation. In New Brunswick, you can pursue majors such as pharmacy-related sciences, biology, chemistry, or public health while seeking research, hospital, community-pharmacy, and industry exposure in the broader New Jersey health-care and pharmaceutical corridor. Being on a campus with an established pharmacy school can also make it easier to learn what PharmD admissions, licensure, and day-to-day pharmacy work actually involve before committing.

Tulane can still prepare you well for pharmacy school, particularly if you would thrive in its smaller undergraduate setting, value close faculty relationships, and want a broad pre-health education connected to New Orleans’ medical community. Its science programs, research opportunities, and pre-health advising can support the prerequisites most PharmD programs expect. However, Tulane does not have its own pharmacy school, so pharmacy-specific mentoring and on-campus professional exposure will require more initiative.
