University of Delaware vs. Boston University: Which Has a More Active Social Life?

For a more traditional, campus-centered, and visibly active undergraduate social scene, the University of Delaware is likely the stronger match. Newark functions as a college town, so students regularly run into one another on Main Street, at athletic events, in residence halls, and at fraternity/sorority or student-organization events. The social environment tends to feel cohesive and easy to enter, especially for students who want weekend parties, school spirit, and a clear sense that much of student life happens around campus.

Delaware will suit someone who wants their friends, classes, activities, and nightlife to overlap in one walkable college community. Greek life is a noticeable part of the social landscape, though it is not the only route to finding friends; clubs, recreation, residence-hall events, and campus traditions also create frequent ways to meet people.

Boston University is social in a different, more independent way.
