Which is better for internships, Florida State University or Arizona State University?

For internships specifically, Arizona State University usually has the edge. Its location in the Phoenix metro area puts students close to a large and growing job market, and ASU has especially strong access to internships in business, engineering, tech, media, health, and startups. The university also leans heavily into career services, employer partnerships, and semester-time internship access because so many companies are nearby.

ASU tends to fit the student who wants volume and convenience in internship options during the school year. Being in or near downtown Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, and other major employment hubs makes it easier to work part-time during the semester, attend employer events, and build experience before junior or senior year. For a student who wants to test different industries or stack multiple internships, that setting is a real advantage.

Florida State can still be excellent, but it is strongest for a somewhat different kind of student. FSU is especially appealing if you are interested in government, politics, public policy, law-related work, nonprofits, and state-level advocacy, since Tallahassee is the state capital and offers access to legislative offices, agencies, and related organizations. Students in those areas can find very relevant experience during the academic year.

FSU also works well for someone who is comfortable relying a bit more on summer internships or being more intentional about networking into opportunities beyond the immediate local market. For fields like finance, tech, and some corporate roles, the surrounding ecosystem is not as naturally broad as what ASU students can tap into around Phoenix.

So if the question is which school is more broadly advantageous for internships across many majors, ASU is the safer answer. If your interests lean toward public affairs, government, or policy work, FSU can be just as compelling and in some cases more targeted.
