If your priority is broad academic choice, a very large student ecosystem, and you are confident you will seek out opportunities aggressively, ASU is still a solid pre-med option.

One practical factor matters a lot here: where you would earn the stronger GPA, find research sooner, and graduate with less debt. For pre-med, those factors can outweigh small differences in reputation between two good public universities.
