Penn State vs Drexel for internships: which school gives better internship opportunities?

The biggest practical tradeoff is structure versus flexibility. Drexel builds work experience into the undergraduate path through its co-op system and its Philadelphia location, so students often have a more direct, school-supported route to internships and paid professional experience. Penn State offers plenty of internship opportunities too, but students usually need to be more proactive about finding them through career fairs, alumni connections, summer recruiting, and their own outreach.

For pure ease of getting substantial work experience during college, Drexel usually has the edge. Its co-op model is one of the main reasons students choose it, and employers know Drexel students are looking for extended, meaningful placements rather than just short summer roles. Being in Philadelphia also helps with access to companies during the academic year, not just over the summer.

Penn State is still very strong, especially because of its large alumni network, recognizable name, and big employer presence at campus recruiting events.
