Fordham has the edge for business overall, mainly because of Gabelli’s direct connection to New York City internships, finance employers, and semester-time networking that is hard to match. Its business program is one of the school’s biggest strengths, and being in the Bronx with access to Manhattan gives students frequent exposure to companies, alumni events, and part-time internship options during the school year. For a student prioritizing business-specific career access, that location advantage matters a lot.

One major differentiator is recruiting environment. Fordham students can realistically build experience during fall and spring because New York employers are nearby, which is especially useful in fields like finance, consulting, marketing, and accounting.

Another difference is how central business feels to each campus. At Fordham, Gabelli is a very visible and well-known part of the university, so business students often benefit from a more focused identity and stronger business branding. At UConn, the School of Business is respected and offers solid academics, but the university’s overall reputation is spread across many strong areas rather than being as tightly tied to business in the same way.
