Northwestern vs Georgia Tech for computer engineering: which is the better choice?

I’m trying to decide between Northwestern and Georgia Tech for computer engineering, and I’m having a hard time comparing them beyond the obvious reputation differences.

I want to understand which school is generally the stronger fit for a student who is specifically interested in computer engineering and wants a solid mix of academics, internships, and career opportunities.

Northwestern still places students very well, especially when they can tell a more cross-disciplinary story, but for pure computer engineering, Tech is the more natural lane.

If computer engineering is the clear center of your academic and career plans, Georgia Tech is the stronger choice. Northwestern becomes more compelling when you want engineering in a more flexible, interdisciplinary setting and care just as much about the broader university experience as about the major itself.
