Is University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or Penn State better for nursing?

That is what matters most if you are comparing schools specifically for nursing, not just overall university reputation.

UIUC can make sense for students interested in health-related fields, public health, or possibly a later-entry nursing route through another institution, but that is a less direct option if you already know you want to become an RN. It adds extra steps and usually less certainty.

So for nursing specifically, Penn State is the better choice here. It offers the clearer professional path, the more relevant undergraduate training, and the infrastructure you would want from a school preparing you to enter registered nursing.
