What is the application deadline for the Siena BS/MD program?
I’m trying to get my BS/MD applications organized, and I have Siena College’s program with Albany Med on my list. I know the deadlines for these programs can be earlier than regular college apps, but I can’t find a clear answer for the Siena program specifically.
I’d really appreciate it if someone could tell me the exact due date or where to find it, especially if you applied before. Does the deadline change each year or is it always the same? If it helps, I’m planning to apply ED elsewhere, so I’m a bit stressed about conflicting dates. Any guidance from current applicants or people who’ve gotten in would be super helpful! Thanks!

The deadline for the Siena College/Albany Medical College BS/MD program is typically November 1 each year, which means that you will not hear back from Siena before applying to your ED school of choice. This is entirely alright though, since the Siena College/Albany Medical College BS/MD program is non-binding. If you get into both it and your ED school, you will simply be bound to attend your ED school. In other words, you will not have conflicting obligations. However, if you'd rather attend the BS/MD program than your ED school, it may be worth reconsidering your ED choice.
As far as the deadline goes, it is also always possible for the school to change the deadline for future admission cycles. This information has been updated for the 2024-2025 application cycle (and has been consistent for several previous years), but may change for the upcoming cycle. Make sure you check both Siena College’s admissions page and Albany Medical College’s program details to confirm this year’s official deadline, just in case there’s a change. It should be updated each year by the start of August at the very latest. You can find Albany Medical College's complete list of information about their BS/MD programs here: https://www.amc.edu/education/md-program/about-md/combined-degree-programs-md/#.
Please note that you can only apply for early admission to Albany through one of their BS/MD programs; if you apply to multiple, your application will be disqualified.
Also, keep in mind you need to complete and submit recommendations, SAT/ACT scores (if you’re sending them), transcripts, and all application essays by this early deadline. I highly recommend completing everything at least a week ahead of schedule, to make sure any minor delays won't hurt your application.
For example, one of my students last cycle was focused on an ED application to a top-choice school, and didn't want to have the conflicting pull of both early applications—so we made sure they were able to finish the Siena/Albany Med BS/MD application in early October, submitting all recommendation letters and essays well before the deadline. Staying organized and paying attention to each school’s specific requirements definitely helps reduce stress! I'll often have my students prep essays over the summer too, using the previous year's prompts as guidelines; while the prompts may change year-to-year, it helps to get the essay writing practice in!
You can always reach out directly to Siena’s admissions office if you want the most current info. They’re usually very responsive via email (admissions@siena.edu) or phone (888-287-4362), though they do get busier as the deadline gets closer.
Good luck organizing your applications! Getting these early deadlines set in a calendar is a huge step forward.
