Cornell vs Carnegie Mellon for computer engineering: which is better overall?
I’m trying to narrow down my college list and both Cornell and Carnegie Mellon keep coming up for computer engineering. I know they’re both really strong schools, but I’m having a hard time telling which one is generally better for the major and student experience.

Cornell gives you a larger, more traditional university experience with a very strong computer engineering program inside a full-scale Ivy research environment, while Carnegie Mellon offers a more tech-centered culture where engineering and computing are especially central to campus life. If you care almost as much about overall campus experience, academic flexibility, and a bigger university setting, Cornell can be the more appealing choice without giving up much at all in program quality.
