WashU vs Caltech for physics: which is better for an undergraduate who wants to study physics?

I’m a high school senior trying to decide between Washington University in St. Louis and Caltech for physics. I know both are strong schools, but I’m having trouble comparing them for an undergrad who wants a serious physics education.

I’m mostly trying to understand how they differ in overall fit for a physics major, especially in terms of academic intensity and undergraduate research opportunities.
