Is Binghamton or the University of South Carolina better for party life?

I'm trying to compare these two schools and one thing I care about is the social scene. I want to know which campus is generally known for having a bigger party life and a more active weekend scene.

I know the overall college experience is about more than that, but this is one of the main factors I'm weighing right now.

If party life and a lively weekend scene are a major factor, the University of South Carolina is more widely known for having the bigger, more consistently active social atmosphere. USC has a large SEC-school vibe, strong school spirit around athletics, a major Greek life presence, and a campus in Columbia that supports going out beyond just dorm or house parties. Binghamton definitely has parties, but its social scene is usually seen as less all-encompassing and a bit more dependent on friend groups, apartments, and specific weekends.

USC tends to fit students who want a social culture that feels visible and easy to plug into. Football Saturdays, tailgates, Greek events, bars in the surrounding area, and warm-weather campus energy all contribute to a campus where weekend plans are usually not hard to find. Even students who are not in fraternities or sororities often feel the effect of that bigger-school, big-spirit social environment.

Binghamton is more of a match for someone who wants a solid social life but not necessarily a campus identity built around partying. There are off-campus parties and active student groups, and many students have fun weekends, but the scene is typically less intense and less central to the school’s overall culture than at South Carolina. The colder weather and the school’s more academically focused feel also shape that atmosphere.

South Carolina has the stronger reputation for party life. Binghamton can still be social, but USC is the one more associated with a bigger weekend scene and a campus culture where that scene plays a more prominent role.
