Iowa City is widely known for being built around the university experience, and it feels that way in practice: a compact downtown, lots of student foot traffic, major school presence on weekends, and a community identity tied closely to the university. Binghamton can still be a good experience socially, but for pure college-town vibe, Iowa City is the more convincing version of what you’re describing.
