Does Caltech meet full demonstrated financial need for admitted students?

I’m trying to figure out whether Caltech is actually affordable if my family can’t pay much out of pocket.

I keep seeing colleges say they offer great aid, but I’m specifically trying to understand whether Caltech commits to meeting full demonstrated need once you’re admitted.

Yes. Caltech states that it meets 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for admitted students.

That means after reviewing your family’s financial information, the school commits to covering the difference between the cost of attendance and what it determines your family can reasonably contribute. The aid package can include grants, scholarships, work-study, and sometimes a student contribution.

The important detail is that “demonstrated need” is based on Caltech’s own aid calculations, not just what your family feels it can pay. So the actual number depends on the CSS Profile, tax documents, household income, assets, home equity treatment, business ownership, and other factors.

If you want the clearest estimate before applying, use Caltech’s net price calculator.
