UT Austin suits a student comfortable with a dense, walkable urban campus next to downtown Austin; Ohio State fits someone who prefers a large campus with a more defined university district, while still recognizing that off-campus Columbus requires street awareness.

At UT Austin, the core campus is compact and heavily traveled during the day, but West Campus, downtown-adjacent streets, and nightlife areas can feel more variable after dark. Austin’s pedestrian, scooter, bicycle, and event traffic also makes attention to traffic safety important.
