Does San Jose State require a supplemental essay for undergraduate applications?

I'm a high school senior getting my college list together and I keep seeing mixed information about whether San Jose State has a supplemental essay.

I'm trying to plan how much writing I need to do for each application, so I want to know if SJSU has any extra essay beyond the main application materials.

San Jose State University does not require a supplemental essay for standard undergraduate freshman admission.

SJSU applies through the Cal State Apply system, and CSU campuses generally do not ask for personal statements or school-specific supplemental essays as part of the regular application.

The main exception is if a specific program later asks for additional materials, or if the university contacts you for more information after you apply. But for the usual undergraduate application itself, there is no supplemental essay.
