Which offers a stronger liberal arts experience, Yale or UIUC?

The biggest practical tradeoff is intimacy versus scale: Yale is built around a small-college, residential liberal arts model, while UIUC offers a far larger public-university ecosystem with more variation in class size and student experience. For discussion-based learning and regular faculty contact, Yale provides the more consistently immersive environment.
