Duke vs. Tufts: Which University Has the Better Campus Size?

Duke has the much larger and more spacious campus.

At Duke, students can spend time in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, walk wooded trails, or use extensive recreation and athletic spaces without leaving university property. The tradeoff is that East Campus, West Campus, and some facilities are separated enough that students rely on buses, bikes, or longer walks, particularly after the first year.

Tufts feels physically closer-knit: classrooms, dorms, dining, and student organizations are generally easy to reach on foot, and the hill offers green quads and views of Boston. But its location in a dense suburban-urban area means there is less uninterrupted outdoor space and fewer on-campus nature-oriented places to explore. For the spacious, outdoors-oriented setting described here, Duke offers substantially more room.
