University of Virginia vs. Case Western Reserve for pre-med preparation and medical school outcomes

Both can prepare you very well for medical school, but they create different pre-med experiences. Medical schools will not treat one name as a substitute for strong performance. Your GPA, MCAT, sustained clinical service, research or other intellectual engagement, letters, and evidence that you understand patient care will matter far more than a small perceived difference in institutional prestige. Choose UVA if you would thrive in a larger, more varied college experience and can proactively build your pre-med résumé.
