University of Virginia vs. Case Western: Which is better for medical school admissions?

Neither University of Virginia nor Case Western Reserve University automatically gives applicants an advantage in medical school admissions; strong grades, MCAT performance, sustained clinical service, research, and compelling recommendations will matter far more. UVA Health provides clinical, research, and service opportunities, while the university’s broader academic offerings can support majors and interests outside biology or chemistry. A student who thrives among many different kinds of peers, wants a classic large-university experience, or can attend at a meaningfully lower cost may find UVA the more sustainable choice.

Choose the campus where you can realistically earn an excellent GPA without burning out, form close relationships with professors, and afford four years without excessive debt.
