WashU Olin vs. UNC Kenan-Flagler: Which school offers easier access to undergraduate business programs?

Washington University in St. Louis offers the more direct and predictable route to an undergraduate business education for a student admitted to Olin Business School. Applicants can apply directly to Olin as undergraduates and begin the BSBA curriculum within the business school, with structured access to its advising, required courses, concentrations, and recruiting resources. Students who enter another WashU division may pursue an internal transfer, but applying to Olin from the start is the clearest path.

UNC-Chapel Hill can be an excellent option for a student who wants a broader first-year academic experience and is comfortable with a later admission process. Most students enter UNC as pre-business students rather than as Kenan-Flagler business majors, complete prerequisite coursework, and apply to the Undergraduate Business Program during their first year for entry afterward.

For access to individual business-related classes, UNC students outside Kenan-Flagler may find that some courses are open while key business-school classes and the formal B.S. in Business Administration curriculum are more limited to admitted program students.
