Both can lead to excellent outcomes in computer science and engineering, but their reputations are not quite equivalent within those fields.

It may be particularly appealing to a student who wants engineering or CS alongside a wider range of academic, campus, and interdisciplinary options.

For prestige specifically in technology and engineering, Georgia Tech has the stronger overall national reputation. Minnesota remains a very solid choice, especially for students who value the Twin Cities job market or prefer a larger, more comprehensive university setting, but Georgia Tech carries more immediate recognition among engineering and technology employers and graduate programs.
