For internships and part-time work, UIC students can tap into Chicago’s major employers, hospitals, nonprofits, government offices, startups, and cultural institutions during the academic year without leaving the city. UIC is also closely connected to the Illinois Medical District, which is particularly valuable for students interested in health care, public health, research, and related fields. Gainesville has opportunities through UF and local organizations, but students seeking large-city professional access will find a much broader landscape at UIC.
