Students can join projects for academic credit across areas such as biology, chemistry, environmental science, genetics, and engineering, rather than waiting until they have extensive coursework or lab experience. That structured entry point can make the first research opportunity easier to find and sustain.

Clemson’s undergraduate-centered culture is another practical advantage. Many science departments connect students with project teams, independent study, and faculty mentors, and Creative Inquiry gives research a visible place in the regular academic experience.
