Is Tulane or Ohio State better for studying marketing?

I’m a high school senior deciding between Tulane and Ohio State, and I’m interested in majoring in marketing. I’m trying to compare which school would provide stronger marketing preparation and career opportunities.

Ohio State is the stronger choice for marketing if you want a large, established business-school curriculum and access to a deep Midwest consumer-brand job market. Fisher College of Business offers a dedicated undergraduate marketing specialization within its business degree, with coursework that can cover consumer behavior, marketing research, digital marketing, sales, and brand strategy. Its Columbus location also puts students near major employers in retail, insurance, apparel, food service, and consumer products, including Nationwide, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret & Co., Abercrombie & Fitch, and Wendy’s.

Fisher’s scale is a meaningful advantage for recruiting. Ohio State has a large business alumni network, extensive career programming, student marketing organizations, and a broad set of internships during the academic year as well as summers. For a student interested in brand management, market research, sales, retail marketing, or digital marketing at a major company, that employer density and recruiting infrastructure can create more options.

Tulane’s Freeman School of Business can still be compelling, particularly for someone drawn to a smaller private-university setting and to New Orleans’ distinctive hospitality, tourism, food, entertainment, and entrepreneurial economy. Freeman’s marketing major offers solid business preparation and potentially more intimate classroom access, but the local recruiting market is narrower for traditional national consumer-brand roles. Tulane may carry more appeal when your marketing interests connect closely to hospitality, culture, events, luxury, or entrepreneurship; Ohio State has the clearer edge for breadth of marketing pathways and corporate career access.
