In practice, once you are applying for internships and full-time roles, your major, grades, internships, technical or research experience, interview performance, and network will matter far more than the prestige gap between these two schools. Stanford has the clearer edge in broad employer prestige, but Rice remains a highly respected institution whose graduates are competitive across industries.
