How does the campus location of Boston University compare with the University of South Florida?

Boston University suits a student who wants campus and city life to blend together. Its Charles River Campus runs along Commonwealth Avenue in Boston’s Kenmore/Fenway-Allston area, with academic buildings, residences, restaurants, shops, and city streets interwoven rather than separated by a traditional campus boundary. The MBTA Green Line’s B branch stops repeatedly along BU, and students can walk or take transit easily to Fenway, Back Bay, downtown Boston, Cambridge, museums, and major events.

The University of South Florida’s main Tampa campus fits students who prefer a more self-contained, spacious college environment within a large metro area. It is in north Tampa, well away from downtown and surrounded largely by residential areas, shopping centers, and other suburban development. USF has substantial on-campus facilities and student activity, but reaching many of Tampa’s distinctive neighborhoods, waterfront areas, professional sports venues, or downtown generally takes a longer bus ride, rideshare, or car trip.
