Which is better for finding internships: the University of Georgia or Arizona State University?

At ASU’s Tempe campus, students can more readily pursue part-time, in-person internships during the academic year because Phoenix-area companies are nearby. UGA students have substantial access to Atlanta employers, but many internships there require a commute, relocation for the summer, or a hybrid arrangement.

ASU has particular practical advantages for students targeting technology, semiconductor manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, real estate, and fast-growing Southwestern companies. Its large student body, multiple campuses, and extensive career programming can produce a high volume of employer events and listings, though students need to be proactive to stand out in a very large system.

Its smaller overall environment than ASU can make it easier to build sustained relationships with professors, alumni, and college-specific career staff, particularly in a major with an active professional network. UGA is a very competitive option for students whose industries and long-term plans align with Georgia and Atlanta, especially if they are prepared to use alumni connections and pursue summer internships in Atlanta. ASU is stronger for students who value nearby, year-round access to a large metro job market.
