At Santa Clara, the social center is more likely to be residence halls, student organizations, campus events, athletics, and nearby San Jose or San Francisco outings.

Tulane’s culture is notably spirited, extroverted, and shaped by the distinct character of New Orleans. There are abundant ways to get involved through service, cultural organizations, Greek life, recreation, student government, and campus programming, but students should be comfortable navigating an active urban environment and taking initiative beyond campus. The school can feel especially lively on weekends, though that atmosphere will not appeal equally to students who prefer a quieter routine.
