Brown vs. Carnegie Mellon for undergraduate artificial intelligence: which is stronger?

I’m a high school senior interested in studying AI as an undergraduate, especially through coursework and research. I’m deciding between Brown and Carnegie Mellon and want to understand which school is generally stronger for undergraduate AI opportunities.

Its computer science department offers meaningful AI and machine learning coursework and research opportunities, but the undergraduate AI ecosystem is not as concentrated or expansive as CMU’s.

Choose Brown when intellectual flexibility and interdisciplinary exploration are central to how you want to approach AI. Choose CMU when you want AI to be the defining academic focus of your undergraduate years and value the most extensive technical AI infrastructure.
