UCL’s main career advantage is its London setting. London has major employers in fintech, banking, consulting, AI, cybersecurity, and global technology, and UCL students can access that ecosystem through internships, societies, employer events, and university recruiting. The degree is academically rigorous and internationally recognized, but students typically need to be more self-directed about accumulating industry experience during vacations rather than relying on a built-in co-op sequence.

Immigration and geography matter as much as curriculum. For a student who wants American employers, Northeastern’s employer network and co-op record are especially valuable; for someone committed to living and working in London or Europe, UCL provides a stronger local platform.
