Does UChicago accept superscored SAT/ACT results?
I'm in the process of finalizing my college list, and I'm really interested in applying to UChicago. My SAT scores are spread out—my reading score was much better in one sitting, and my math score in another. I heard some schools accept 'superscored' results and I was hoping UChicago might be one of them.
I want to make sure I'm sending in my best possible application, but the info on their website seemed kind of vague to me. If anyone applied recently or knows for sure, can you clarify whether UChicago superscores SAT or ACT? It would make a difference in how I go about sending my scores.
Any info would be really appreciated. I just want to know if it's worth sending both test dates or if they'll automatically combine my highest sections.

UChicago does accept superscored SAT and ACT results. This means they'll consider your highest scores by section across all test dates you submit—they’ll take the best Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score and the best Math score for the SAT, and for the ACT, the highest scores for each individual section, regardless of when you took them.
It's a good idea, then, to send all the test dates in which you achieved your highest section scores. For example, if you scored higher on SAT Math in March and higher on Reading in May, they'll look at both tests and combine your best section scores to get your highest possible overall SAT result. Same logic applies for the ACT (if, say, you did best on English and Science in one sitting, and highest on Math in another, UChicago will use the highest sectional scores among all test dates).
If you use the College Board or ACT's official reporting systems when sending scores, the most straightforward approach is to send all score reports with your best sections. UChicago's admissions website confirms their policy by saying, "If you feel that multiple SAT or ACT tests will be beneficial to your application, you are welcome to submit them." They also explicitly state they will superscore both SAT and ACT. Students in the recent admission cycles have experienced this benefit.
In your case, go ahead and send both test dates, so they can combine your highest Reading and Math sections for the SAT. This could give your application a stronger academic profile.
If you still have questions or want a direct source, you can reach out to the admissions office. But sending all test dates where you earned your highest section scores is definitely a good strategy for UChicago.
