When are UChicago Early Decision results released?

I'm really anxious waiting for UChicago's Early Decision results. I've checked their website, but the date for when decisions come out isn't super clear (maybe I'm missing something?).

If anyone has experience with applying ED to UChicago or if you're waiting this year too, when should we expect results? I know some schools release in mid-December, but I've also seen something about UChicago sometimes being a little later. Does anyone know for sure, or remember what happened last year?

I'm trying to figure out if I should be refreshing my portal every day or if I can relax a bit!

UChicago typically releases Early Decision (ED) results in mid- to late December, but they don’t always announce an exact date far in advance. In recent years, the trend has been for results to go out sometime between December 15th and December 21st. For example, last year (the 2022-2023 cycle), UChicago ED results were released on December 20th in the afternoon Central Time. The year before that, decisions landed around December 17th.

In my cycle (2016-2017), I received my Early Decision result in early-mid December. There were no official communications as to the release of the decisions. I learned that decisions were to come out the day they did through UChicago applicant forums.

Try to relax—most years UChicago doesn’t do any surprise earlier releases, and you’ll get a heads-up shortly before the actual date. Good luck and hang in there!
