Is Washington University in St. Louis or Tulane more fun for student life?

Its Uptown New Orleans location gives students easy access to music, food, festivals, and neighborhoods that are part of everyday student life. Tulane also has a spirited campus culture around events such as Mardi Gras, and its social life tends to feel energetic and visible.

The key difference is setting. Tulane’s campus sits near Audubon Park and the St. Charles Avenue streetcar, with the broader city functioning as an extension of campus. St. Louis offers plenty to explore, including Forest Park, museums, sports, and restaurants, but students typically have to make more of an effort to leave the WashU area than Tulane students do to experience New Orleans.
