Is Arizona State or the University of Florida generally easier to get into?

The main practical tradeoff is that Arizona State offers broader access across several campuses and admission pathways, while the University of Florida has a much more constrained freshman class at its main Gainesville campus.

UF is a highly selective public flagship with especially strong demand from Florida residents and applicants nationwide. Strong grades in rigorous courses are important there, and many qualified applicants are not admitted simply because the applicant pool is deep and space is limited.

ASU also evaluates applicants through clearer academic admission standards for many programs, and its scale allows it to enroll a far larger and more varied undergraduate population. That does not mean every ASU program is easy to enter: majors such as engineering, business, nursing, and certain honors or direct-entry programs can have additional expectations.

So, without anchoring the comparison to a single year’s rate, Arizona State is generally easier to get into than the University of Florida. A student who is competitive for UF would often be a strong ASU applicant, while admission to ASU alone would not necessarily indicate that UF is likely.
