Its established pre-health advising and broad life-science offerings also make it a natural fit for students who want medicine to be central to their college experience.

UF is especially compelling for students interested in patient-facing research or specialties tied to a large teaching hospital. The key is to pursue opportunities early and consistently, since a large university can be resource-rich but also competitive.

NC State can be an excellent choice for a pre-med student whose interests lean toward engineering, data science, biochemistry, or other interdisciplinary STEM work.
