Tulane has a more relaxed, social, and distinctive atmosphere. Its students tend to have strong campus pride, but the experience is less centered on large-scale athletics than Penn State’s. The smaller undergraduate population can make classes, residence halls, and student organizations feel more personal, while New Orleans gives students unusual access to culture and entertainment.
