University of Miami vs. University of Florida: Which campus is larger?

The University of Florida has the much larger physical campus and will feel far more like a spacious, traditional college setting.

UF’s size shows up in its layout: academic colleges, residence halls, athletic facilities, green spaces, lakes, museums, and major campus landmarks are spread across a large, walkable area. It has the scale and variety of spaces many students picture when they think of a flagship public university.

Miami’s Coral Gables campus is attractive and well-landscaped, with distinctive Mediterranean-style architecture, but it is much more compact. Students can cross much of it relatively quickly, and its setting feels more connected to a residential suburb within the larger Miami metropolitan area than to a self-contained college town.

For a student prioritizing room to explore, a larger student-centered footprint, and a classic campus atmosphere, UF is the clearer match. Miami may appeal more to someone who prefers a smaller, polished campus with closer access to the amenities and internship opportunities of the Miami area.
