Ohio State has the bigger, more all-consuming sports culture for an incoming student. Athletics, especially football, shape campus energy in a way that reaches far beyond the stadium, and game days in Columbus can feel like the main event of the week. Indiana has real school spirit too, but the atmosphere is usually less dominant in everyday student life and less centered on a single sport driving the whole campus mood.

At Ohio State, football is a defining part of the student experience. Saturdays bring massive crowds, intense traditions, tailgates across campus, and a citywide feeling that students are stepping into something huge. Even students who are not major sports fans often end up participating because the scale is hard to ignore, and that makes athletics a very visible part of the social scene.

At Indiana, basketball carries a lot of the identity, and that gives the sports culture a different rhythm.
